Lahore: Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid has stated here on Thursday that 78 more cases of coronavirus have been reported in major cities of Punjab.
78 people have been tested positive COVID-19 across Punjab.
While speaking to the media persons in the provincial capital, Dr. Yasmin Rashid claimed that those patients who are tested positive for COVID-19 are immediately shifted in the isolated wards.
She said, “If patients diagnosed with coronavirus are kept together, the pandemic doesn’t spread.”
Among these 78 cases, 60 are reported to be pilgrims while two cases have been recorded in Gujrat. These two patients are treated in Gujrat Hospital.
She further cleared that the majority of the patients who have been diagnosed with the disease have come from abroad.
“All patients who have tested positive arrived from abroad,” she added.
Earlier, the Pakistan People’s Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has urged the nation to take it seriously.
On Thursday, while addressing a press conference here at the Sindh Assembly in Karachi, he declared,
“We are heading towards a lock-down.”
“The Sindh government took measures as soon as there was news of an outbreak in China,” he added.
With the addition of these new cases, the total number of coronavirus patients across the country rose to 448 on Thursday.
