Peshawar: Festive firing is so common in the big cities of Pakistan. Even realizing the fact that it could be dangerous people do not stop showing it off.
A recent case of the death of a 13-year-old boy has been making rounds on the internet. The reason behind his death is none other than festive firing. The unfortunate lad was playing with his friends in a street when he encountered a stray bullet and got injured.
People called the ambulance. He was immediately taken to the Lady Reading Hospital. However, the young boy couldn’t survive and succumbed to his wounds.
He is being identified as Noor Shahid Shah who was a student of grade-8.
After his death, people on social media started a campaign against festive firing demanding a ban on it. Provincial minister Taimur Khan Jhagra has posted the details of the entire incident and express his concerns to change some of the traditions like festive firing.
