Afghan Taliban meet PM Imran Khan


Islamabad: A group of senior Taliban leaders arrived at Islamabad International Airport here on Thursday.

According to the local news media, the group of senior Taliban leaders meets PM Imran Khan. Earlier, the group of Taliban has also arranged meetings at the Pakistan Foreign Office.

The delegation was led by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar who is the group’s co-founder.

Stability in Afghanistan

The discussions regarding the peace and stability in Afghanistan were taken under the limelight. PM Imran Khan stresses the need of bringing peace into the region. He went on explaining that Islamabad is making efforts for bringing peace and stability in Afghanistan.

Geo News further reported that the delegation has lauded Pakistan’s role in bringing peace into the region.

Moreover, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has also mentioned that,

“Islamabad wants the talks to resume to smooth the path for a durable, long-lasting peace and stability in Afghanistan”, Qureshi was quoted as saying in the statement.

“War is not a solution to any problem. Talks are the only and positive solution to establish peace in Afghanistan,” he added
