Huawei is the leading tech giant and the second largest producer in the global cell phone market. Huawei is a Chinese tech company which is penetrating in the market for many years. In the past few years, their market share massively increased which was possible only due to the use of the Android platform as well as launching multiple models with high quality and affordable prices. In simple words, we can say that it is a flagship killer as most of their successful models compete with the flagship models of other tech giants but with half the price.
Now Google has banned Huawei’s access to Google services immediately. But how it happened? It all started a few months back when President Donald Trump gave the statement that Huawei is secretly partnered with Chinese Army and intelligence services to get access to their customers inside the U.S and trying to grab confidential information from sensitive departments of the Government. After this statement, Trump also passed an executive order to ban all services to Huawei by U.S based suppliers and collaborators.
Google and Qualcomm are the biggest suppliers of Huawei from the U.S and Google took the first step and other companies will more likely to join Google in the race. Most of the vital parts or their designs for Huawei are from the U.S which will definitely effect tech giant’s future. Without Google services, Huawei won’t be able to release any further model using the Android platform. This means that users won’t be able to access the Google Play store or Gmail anymore. This condition is not applicable for the existing users as those who have already purchased Huawei phones will face no problems and according to Huawei, all Huawei phones will receive new security patch within coming months.
In a statement, CEO of Huawei Technologies said that Huawei will never bow to the U.S as businesses should never be dragged in the politics. He also mentioned that consumers can choose whatever product feel suitable and should not be misguided through political statements and actions. He said that we are not worried as we have our own backup plan which will be in action within planned time.
This situation confuses millions of Huawei users and general consumers and triggers many questions that what will happen in the future. Is this the start of Huawei’s destruction or will they be able to come back and stand as a strong player again like before?
