Apple iPhone 16 Pro series to feature tetraprism camera
The forthcoming iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will come with Apple’s upgraded tetraprism Telephoto lens, which boasts a 5x optical zoom, according to Apple expert Ming-Chi Kuo.
Due to manufacturing issues and space restrictions, the iPhone 15 Pro was unable to use this technology; however, the iPhone 16 Pro series seeks to get around these obstacles.
By enlarging the screen to 6.3 inches, the new iPhones will overcome earlier challenges and make more room for the sophisticated camera gear.
Furthermore, the tetraprism lens’s output yield has improved dramatically, rising from 40% in 2023 to an impressive 70% or higher.
Increased production efficiency and the larger screen size of the iPhone 16 Pro guarantee the inclusion of the tetraprism lens, which was only available on the Pro Max model.
Although specifics of possible lens enhancements in 2024 are yet unknown, there are rumors that Apple is investigating the possibility of developing a “super telephoto camera” with a longer focal length.
