Rawalpindi: US-Iran tensions have been increasing with each passing day. The matter has sought international importance as well. The Chief of Army staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Wednesday advised the two nations to avoid rhetoric.

He urged them “to avoid rhetoric in favour of diplomatic engagement.”

A tweet from DG ISPR reads as “COAS received a telephone call from US Secretary of Defence Mr Dr Mark T. Esper. Both discussed the ongoing security situation in the Middle East.”

Through a series of tweets, DG ISPR tries to inform that US forces are not in favor of the war. They want peace and would always make arrangements for it. However, it also revealed that the US “will respond forcefully if necessary.”

COAS also revealed that Pakistan will be standing with those who are in favor of peace. All the initiatives that would guarantee peace in the regions would be surely supported.

The Chief of the Army Staff was also quoted saying that “We all have worked a lot to bring peace in the region by fighting against terrorism.”
