Babusar Bus Crash: 10 soldiers among 26 killed


Mansehra: A terrible incident happened near Babusar top when a passenger coach hits a mountainside and resulted in the death of 26 people including 10 army soldiers.

The incident happened on Sunday when the coach hits the mountain near Gattidas area in the Kaghan valley, Babusar Top.

As soon as the incident happened, the rescue sources arrived at the scene and helped the injured ones.

The deceased and wounded ones were shifted to the civil hospital, Naran for autopsy and medical treatment respectively.

As per the reports, the Assistant Commissioner, Balakot, Nawab Sameer Hussain Laghari has told the media that,

“We have cleared the accident site as all 26 dead and 20 injured have been shifted to nearby hospitals in Mansehra district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Chilas in Gilgit-Baltistan.”

“We are determining the cause of the accident. We called six ambulances to transport the injured to these hospitals from Gattidas,” he further added.

According to those who survived the accident, the coach was going on high speed. However, they are not sure if the breaks were fine. May be the accident happened owing to the failure of the breaks.

The Assistant Commissioner further added that “An army helicopter landed at the site and airlifted the injured including four army soldiers to Gilgit-Baltistan.”

Investigations are still under process.

On the other hand, President Dr. Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and some other prominent political leaders have expressed sympathies for the families of the deceased and pray for the departed souls.
