Islamabad: Geo News reported that as soon as the news of the arrest of PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz came out, a series of responses took their way to the parliament house.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto has also strongly condemned the arrest of a female opposition leader. His response was quite aggressive.
Speaking at The National Assembly, Bilawal Bhutto slammed PTI government for arresting a female opposition leader.
It is pertinent to note that The PML-N leader was taken into custody on Thursday by NAB in Chaudhary Sugar Mills case.
Bilawal stressed upon the need for unity at that critical moment when Indian forces are violating laws and hurting Kashmiri people.
He also recalled the regime of General Zia where it was common to arrest female political leaders. He mentioned that Imran Khan’s “Naya Pakistan” is following the steps of General Zia’s regime.
“We have faced dictators in the past as well,” he mentioned and walked straight out of the assembly.
