Bilawal inaugurated Thar coal power plant


Tharparkar: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Wednesday has inaugurated the Thar coal power project. This newly designed coal power plant has the capacity to generate 660 megawatts. It is consists of two power generation units of 330MW each.
Bilawal took to his twitter handle and posted in these words:
“I just inaugurated Thar coal power plant. The highest man-made structure in Pakistan.”

People are quite happy with this new move taken by the Sindh government and Pakistan People’s Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and PPP leaders, as well as Sindh cabinet members, were present at the inauguration ceremony.

The project was completed under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) flagship public-private partnership of government of Sindh.

For this project, the Sindh government had given the sovereign guarantee of $700 million dollars.

It is pertinent to mention here that for the succession of the project, Mai Bakhtawer Airport, roads and bridges were also established beside provision of water for power generation.
