Chat GPT-4: AI that answers and questions – All you need to know.

GPT-4, the latest version of OpenAI’s large language model, comes with several improvements over its predecessor, GPT-3.5. It is 82% less likely to respond to requests for disallowed content and scores 40% higher on certain tests of factuality. Additionally, GPT-4 provides developers with the option to choose their AI’s style of tone and verbosity, allowing them to customize the chatbot’s responses. For instance, GPT-4 can assume a Socratic style of conversation and answer questions with questions, unlike the previous iteration of the technology that had a fixed tone and style. OpenAI plans to introduce this feature to ChatGPT users in the near future.

GPT-4 outperformed its predecessor in the U.S. bar exam and the GRE.

Capabilities of GPT-4.

GPT-4 has shown better performance than its predecessor in exams such as the U.S. bar exam and GRE. It can also assist in tax calculations, as demonstrated by OpenAI’s president, Greg Brockman.
A demo of GPT-4 showcased its ability to create a real website from a hand-drawn mock-up. Additionally, the app Be My Eyes plans to use GPT-4 to provide a virtual volunteer tool for visually impaired individuals.

LIMITATIONS OF GPT-4

  • GPT-4 has similar limitations to its predecessors and is “less capable than humans in many real-world scenarios.”
  • Inaccurate responses or “hallucinations” remain a challenge for many AI programs, including GPT-4.
  • OpenAI stated that GPT-4 can rival human propagandists in many domains, especially when working alongside a human editor.
  • An example was cited where GPT-4 came up with plausible suggestions when asked about how to get two parties to disagree on a controversial topic.

ACCESS TO GPT-4

GPT-4’s image-input feature is not yet publicly available, and only ChatGPT Plus subscribers and developers on the waitlist will have access to the text-input feature. The subscription plan costs $20 per month and offers faster response times and priority access to new features. Microsoft’s Bing AI chatbot and some features on Duolingo’s language learning platform are powered by GPT-4.
