“Coronavirus an unprecedented danger, best defence is cooperation,” DG ISPR


Rawalpindi: On Monday, the Director-General of the Inter-Services Public Relations Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar has stated that Coronavirus is one of those dangers that Pakistan has never encountered before.

While referring to the country’s total number of confirmed cases that has raised to nearly 900, he advised to nation to follow all the precautionary measures.

While addressing a press conference on Monday, Maj Gen Iftikhar urged the nation to take this disease seriously. Several countries are facing severely because they haven’t paid head to this virus in their initial day.

He claimed that the borders have been closed but “the actual border is between the man and the coronavirus, which we have yet to take control of.”

He said, “This will only be possible through self-discipline and cooperation. The best defense against the coronavirus is cooperation.”

He further ensured the nation that Pakistan Army is always standing alongside to ensure the safety of its people.

He asserted, “Pakistan Army is well aware of its responsibility and will bring all of its resources to use.”

He went on saying that “Despite Army personnel being deployed at the Line of Control (LoC) and the western border in a huge number, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Javed Qamar Bajwa has directed that all available soldiers and the Army’s medical resources be deployed to tackle the coronavirus.”

Moreover, under the instructions from PM Imran Khan, all the major cities of the country will may undergo a severe lockdown.

“According to the notification issued by the federal and provincial governments, only hospitals, shops selling food items, medical stores, and food and medicine manufacturing industries would only remain open, while schools shall remain closed,” he further added.

He ended up encouraging the masses to not stop fighting against this lethal disease. We can only succeed in fighting against it if we are united. Mutual cooperation is the key factor in fighting against coronavirus.
