Islamabad: Pakistani nation is not taking this fatal disease seriously and as a result, more and more cases are surfacing in the country.
Yesterday, the country has recorded 561 new positive cases of coronavirus that is the highest number of confirmed tests conducted so far.
Sources revealed that the country has witnessed 561 cases in a day while the number of casualties is also rising day after day. With 17 patients dying from coronavirus in a single day, the total number of casualties has rose to 134.
According to the recent sources, the number of confirmed coronavirus cases has surged to 7,000. Out of these cases, Punjab remains the worst hit by COVID 19 with total 3276 cases.
Sindh remains at second with 2,008 cases, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has 912 cases, Balochistan has 305 cases, Islamabad has 145 cases, Gilgit-Baltistan has reported 245 cases while Azad Jammu and Kashmir has reported 46 confirmed coronavirus cases.
Meanwhile, focal person for COVID 19, Dr. Faisal has announced that 199 patients had been recovered in the last 24 hours.
He also stated that the testing capability of Pakistan must be increased so that more and more people will be tested.
He said, “Only through testing can disease trends and direction be ascertained. Testing will also enable tracking of the disease and authentication of data.”
He remarked that “Over 600,000 test reactions will be provided to different laboratories for testing of suspected patients and their contacts for timely detection of potential hotspots in the country to prevent further transmission of coronavirus.”
