Famous Urdu Poet Himayat Ali Shair breathed his last in Toronto


Toronto: Local News media revealed that legendary Urdu poet, as well as song writer Himayat Ali Shair, breathed his last on Tuesday in Toronto. The cause of his death is his prolonged illness.

He was born on 14th July 1926 in India’s Aurangabad. After partition, he moved to Karachi and started living there. He died at the age of 93.

He has earned a lot of fame in Urdu literature. His name will always be remembered owing to his contributions to the Urdu literature. He has also written Urdu songs for Pakistani films which also helped him in building up his name as a strong and powerful song writer.

Keeping in mind, his contributions and services to the Urdu literature, the Pakistani government conferred him the ‘Pride of Performance Award’. He has also promoted arts throughout his life.

His contribution to the film industry earned him the ‘Nigar Award’.

Himayat Ali Shair was residing in Canada since an extensive period. Reports revealed that he has got a cardiac attack which proved to be fatal for his age. At last, the legend could not survive this and breathed his last on 16th July 2019.

News officials revealed that he would be buried in Toronto, a city in Canada.
