Islamabad: As we all know that Aurat March took place on 8th March every year in Pakistan. However, there are some people including Advocate Azhar Siddique who are against Aurat March and are filing petitions to block Aurat March. The petition was filed in February. Fawad Chaudhry voices support for Aurat March
Advocate Siddique’s petition has claimed that “Aurat March was against the very norms of Islam”,
He stated, “Its hidden agenda is to spread anarchy, vulgarity, and hatred.”
The Lahore High Court has announced that it has dismissed the petition because it is the fundamental right or the women of the country.
#AuratMarch2020 petition is disposed off in Lahore High Court. Judge mentioned that freedom of association is a fundamental right and March will take place on 8th March. Direction was given to law enforcement to provide security and protection to marchers and issue NoC ASAP. 🙌🏾💪🏻

Meanwhile, the Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry and some other ministers have voiced support for Aurat March here on Wednesday.
Strongly condemn those political ldrs calling on ppl to forcibly stop #AuratMarch. Women like other segments of society have a right to peacefully protest & demand their rights already enshrined in our constitution.

I wholeheartedly support #AuratMarch2020. Voices should be heard, issues should be discussed, and rights should be protected. Any act of suppression will only make our voices louder and stronger. And for anyone who thinks otherwise #ThankyouNext

Fawad Chaudhry has also asked the Punjab government to provide proper security to the upcoming Aurat March.
Chaudhry said: “If TLP chief Maulana Khadim Hussain Rizvi and Lal Masjid cleric Maulana Abdul Aziz can openly engage in hate speech, then peaceful groups should also have the right to express their thoughts.”
