Muzaffarabad: The University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir has issued a notification here on Monday which banned the use of lipsticks on the campus.
The notification is issued by the institution’s education department which aims at banning female students from wearing lipstick on the campus. The notification was issued on January 21.
The university’s spokesperson, Tahir Azeem has stated that “The circular was issued by the Education department. It has no legal standing.”
Here is the notification which reads as “Female students are not allowed to put on lipstick. If seen, they will be fined at the spot for Rs 100 each time.”
As soon as the notification came out, it spread like wild fire on social media. People started criticizing the university management for such silly notifications for female students.
According to the university’s spokesperson, Tahir Azeem, the circular was issued by the department independently.
He declared that “To maintain the sanctity of education and teaching, different departments issue a code of conduct.”
