Islamabad: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan had pushed herself into the hot waters after commenting on yesterday’s earth quake as the ‘Change’.
On Tuesday, while commenting on the earth quake which rattled major parts of Pakistan and especially Azad Kashmir, she linked it with the PTI government’s buzzword ‘change’.
While addressing at a media training function, she mentioned by the end of her speech that these are the signs of change when anything new happened, it creates buzz and anxiety among the masses.
She mentioned that “This restiveness is a sign of change that the earth has also taken a turn. May be this early change is also not acceptable to it.”
Her comments on earth quake went viral on social media and people went furious.
Shireen Mazari apologized to the public on her behalf.
The Information SAPM’s remarks on the earthquake were insensitive, absolutely inappropriate and most certainly had nothing to do with govt viewpoint. Human suffering can never be made light of.

However, later on, she cleared her stance through a video message which was shared on her official Twitter page. She said that she was only discussing the effects of the earth quake which were brought upon the masses.
“I talked to give courage to the audience in the context of social media, but it was given a wrong colour and circulated on the media, which I condemn and request for presenting my statement before a protest camp, set up outside the Parliament House, with regard to the 50th day of Indian curfew in the IOK and complete lockdown,” she cleared.
