Lahore: Local News media revealed here on Thursday that Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has been arrested by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in the LNG case.
The news of his arrest has been confirmed by the senior PML-N leader and former minister Ahsan Iqbal on Thursday.
He was arrested by the NAB near Lahore Toll Plaza.
It is pertinent to note that he was summoned by the National Accountability Court in a case related to the LNG import today. However, the former Prime Minister has skipped the hearing.
Media also reported that Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has handed over a tender worth Rs220 billion to a company. He himself was a shareholder to the same company. So, the accusations were being made on him.

As soon as he got arrested, PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz was quick to respond to his arrest stated that,
“My dear countrymen another prime minister elected from your votes is arrested”.
