Under the wake of recently going on the controversy between playwright Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar and a female activist Marvi Sarmad, Geo Entertainment suspends contract with Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar .
It is worth noticing that famous TV channel Geo Entertainment and the 7th Sky Entertainment have suspended contracts with him for the use of foul language he has used for the female activist Marvi Sarmad.
During a TV show that was aired on Neo TV on Tuesday, Khalil-ur-Rehman and Marvi Sarmad indulged into a heated argument on ‘Mera Jism Meri Marzi’.
Geo Entertainment has issued a statement here on Thursday, according to which, the channel has ‘subjected the continuation of their agreement with Qamar to an apology.’

The statement issued by Geo cleared that the channel “believes in exchange of ideas and promoting the culture of live and let live – Geo aur Jeenay Do.”
“Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar not only used abusive language against a woman but also refused to accept his mistake and apologize for it,” the statement further noted.
In the concluding words, “Geo has always aimed to create an enabling environment for thought and debate even if that includes criticism on the organization itself.”
