Halwa Puri is one of our traditional cuisines that is loved by almost everyone living in different cities and sectors of Pakistan. You can’t say ‘No’ to Halwa Puri when it is being offered by your loved ones. However, women in our country are more prone to making it at home than to buy it from bazar. It’s not a big problem if you don’t know how to make Halwa Puri at home.

How to Make Halwa Puri at home?

Here is an easy recipe that you can try at your home. The ingredients which are used in the making of Halwa Puri are easily available in different departmental stores.

Ingredients for Halwa Puri

  • 1/4 cup Oil
  • 200 gm Gram boiled
  • 250 gm Semolina
  • 500 gm Sugar
  • 1 Onion
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin
  • 1 tsp Fenugreek
  • 1 tbsp Red pepper powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
  • 1 cup Ghee
  • 1 pinch Yellow color
  • 20 gm Coconut
  • 20 gm Raisins
  • 20 gm Cashew
  • 20 gm Pistachio
  • 20 gm Almonds
  • 1 kg Superfine flour
  • Salt (As Required)

Instructions for making Channa

Take a pan and add a ¼ cup of oil, onion, cumin, fenugreek, water, ginger garlic paste, red pepper powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, boiled grams, and water.

Leave it at dum for 3-4 minutes.

Grams are ready.

Instructions for making Halwa

In a pan add ghee and semolina and fry it then add in water, yellow food color, sugar, coconut, raisins, cashew, pistachio and almonds and cook for 5-7 minutes.

Halwa is ready.

Instructions for making Puri
  1. Take superfine flour, salt, ghee, and water and knead it well.
  2. Leave it for 15-20 minutes then make medium size balls and make Puri by using a rolling pin.
  3. Now in a pot add oil and fry it till it gets lite brown.
  4. Puri is ready now.
  5. Serve your garama garam and delicious Puri with Halwa and Channy.
