London: Jamil Naqsh, who has been ranked among one of the greatest artists in his time period has lost the battle of his life in London on Thursday. He was suffering from ‘serious pneumonia’.
He has been residing in London since 2012.
He was immediately taken to the St Mary’s Hospital after his health started deteriorating on 7th May. However, the current condition of Naqsh doesn’t allow him to survive more and he gave up.
His famous works included calligraphy, pigeons and figurative paintings. He was for sure a celebrated artists who have earned a name for himself through the talents that God has bestowed upon him.
He died at the age of 80. It wouldn’t be wrong in stating that the death of this Pakistani gem is indeed a lost to the whole community of arts.
His wife Najmi Sura during an interview stated that,
“After creating innumerous masterpieces in this world for over six decades, he has returned back to his Creator.”
He has some special liking for travelling in his teens. He has travelled through Chittagong, Calcutta, and Colombo. Life was not always easy upon him however he has learned throughout his life and fought the difficulty with a brave and open heart.
Moreover, Naqsh was also honored with the Pride of Performance Award in 1989 at the National College of Arts. He has also received Sitara-i-Imtiaz in 2009.
The whole Pakistan grieved upon the loss of this precious soul. He would be remembered by the whole nation as a ‘Relentless Painter’. He always focused on his work rather than enjoying the other pleasures of life.
