In order to spread women empowerment and awareness, the Bahria University Karachi campus has held an event naming “You Go Girl”.

Some of the notable women celebrities from private as well as entertainment sectors were being called out as the Chief Guest. Most common among these were Natalia Gul, Parveen Saeed, Hija Kamran, Zainab Ansari, and Mehwish Hayat.

These strong women have managed to make a name for themselves in a male dominated society. They delivered some of the key secrets to women empowerment and awareness.

While speaking at the event, Mehwish Hayat comes up with some strong and powerful lines which were quite inspiring. She stated that “Criticize my work and it’s okay, but why my morals?” She stated all this on behalf of all the social media bullying that she herself has faced a few days back when she received ‘Tamgha-e-Imtiaz’.

she confidently conveyed the message of firmness and belief through her speech stating that whatever difficulties were on her path, she always remained firm and surpasses all through her career.

Apart from Mehwish Hayat’s motivational speech, Zainab Ansari has also addressed the audience on the issues related to self-defense. Information dialogues were being made by Hija Kamran who is a digital right specialist. She spoke on the issues of cyber harassment and bullying.

The event was not dry as some comic figures like Natalia Gul and Erum Siddiqui were also there who have entertained the audience with their comic wit.

The ‘You Go Girl’ event was ended by a splendidly musical performance by KAYA the band and Afsheen Hayat.
