Khaqan Abbasi granted bail to attend the funeral ceremony of his uncle


Islamabad: Earlier, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan Khaqan Abbasi was arrested by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in LNG case.

However, the Accountability court has recently granted bail to the former PM Khaqan Abbasi. The bail has been granted on the Humanitarian grounds in order to attend the funeral ceremony of his paternal uncle.

Saadia Abbasi, the sister of Khaqan Abbasi has pleaded the accountability court to grant bail to his brother to attend the funeral of his late uncle Brigadier Muhammad Taj.

However, the officials of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had rejected her plea saying that it is beyond the court’s jurisdiction.

On this, Saadia Abbasi approached the court and informed it about the current scenario.

The Accountability court has accepted her bail plea and granted bail to Khaqan Abbasi. However, he would be taken under strict security.
