Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has recently unveiled his latest endeavor – delving into the world of cattle ranching. The billionaire is now actively engaged in raising cattle at Ko’olau Ranch on Kauai, with a primary objective of generating high-quality beef on a global scale.
Zuckerberg, renowned for his rigorous exercise routines, has initiated the rearing of Wagyu and Angus cattle, breeds well-known for their premium beef. His plan involves feeding them a diet that incorporates macadamia meal and locally produced beer from the ranch. The Angus breed, originating from Scotland, holds widespread acclaim in the United States for its steak, while Wagyu comprises four Japanese cattle breeds specifically cultivated for their beef.
Underlining the importance of a localized and vertically integrated approach, Zuckerberg elucidated, “We want the whole process to be local and vertically integrated. Each cow eats 5,000-10,000 pounds of food each year, so that’s a lot of acres of macadamia trees.”
