No coverage of Morsi’s Death on front Pages of Major Egyptian News Papers


Till Tuesday there was almost not big coverage for the ex-president on the front pages of major newspapers in Egypt. Rather it was mentioned in the inner pages where editors cover criminal cases news.

Serving the life sentence for espionage was not the only reason behind the death of Mohamed Morsi.

Mohamed Morsi was facing many cases before the death, stealing secret information was only one crime. He was suffering from mental torture.

His age was 67 years and in the courtroom, he collapsed. Later on, he was taken in a Cairo hospital where he was declared dead.

Pakistani Parliament Also offered Fatiha for Morsi:

Pakistani parliament also offered prayers for him. Molana Abdul Akbar Chitrali offered Fatiha on the request of a lawmaker from the national assembly.

Maybe the reason is, he was the first president who was elected democratically.

In June 2012. He came into the office. But the sad thing is that he led the government for 1 year only and his mandate was for 4 years.

Massive street protests started and he was removed by military operation led by the current president Abdel Fattah el-Sisi in the month of July 2013.

For at least 6 years Morsi has been in prison where he was suffering from many health issues, like liver problem, diabetes, and kidney disease.

How many Trials Morsi Was Facing & The Biggest Crime?

Before death, he was facing almost 6 different serious trials including the punishment of 20 years’ life sentence.

The biggest crime that caused the major trouble for him was the killing of protesters who were doing demonstrations in the year of 2012.

He was also considered to be the main culprit in the act of terrorism against the country. Insulting the judiciary intentionally as well as jailbreak was also deemed to be his crimes.
