Islamabad: Pakistan’s Information and Broadcasting Minister Fawad Chaudhry has mentioned in his speech on Tuesday that there had been monarchy or dictatorship in Pakistan, some 200 people would have been hung in a hotel and looted money recovered, but the government had to act upon the law and constitution.
While briefing media persons in the federal cabinet meeting which was presided over by Prime Minister Imran Khan, the minister has emphasized that combating corruption is something very necessary for the national development. He further cleared out that only Imran Khan is not responsible for rooting out the seed of corruption from the country but the other institutions were also responsible for fighting the menace.
He has mentioned in his speech that the government is not asking Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari to surrender their own money. The government is just seeking from them the wealth of the nation, which they had plundered. All the looted money should be returned and $8-10 billion would work for the government.
He repeated that the PTI’s stance was very clear regarding corruption and accountability, as no one, who had looted the wealth of Pakistan, would be given leniency.
Referring to the NAB and media, he has asserted that startling revelations regarding the corruption of the Sharif family were coming up. It is being discovered that many prominent PML-N leaders, including Khawaja Asif, Ahsan Iqbal, and others were involved in mega corruption cases.
