Osman Khalid Butt has always been vocal about the social injustices. He has always been seen supporting women and their spirits. While condemning stuff that can ridicule the honor of a woman, Osman Khalid Butt was always on the forefront. Osman Khalid Butt is not surprised by Khalil-ur-Rehman’s misogynist remarks
Among many celebrities who came in the support of the female activist Marvi Sarmad, Osman Khalid Butt has been an addition to it.
He has recently revealed that he is actually not shocked to hear such indecent words from the playwright Khalil-ur-Rehman. He has been used to it.
Taking to his twitter handle, Osman Khalid Butt revealed the morality of our entertainment industry. In his words, the drama that has created between Khalil-ur-Rehman and Marvi Sarmad will be soon forgotten and the channels will continue working with the writer. That’s how our entertainment fraternity works.
He wrote, “The problem with outrage culture when it comes to matters of the entertainment industry is aside from checking boxes and preaching to the converted. What good has it done us?”
He further wrote, “We’ve already moved on from PISA, from Zindagi Tamasha. No one has truly been held accountable in both cases. In fact, next year we’ll probably see 90 percent of the industry at that award show.”
He went on saying, “I find it odd that we seem to be just waking up to Khalil-ur-Rehman’s vitriol. Why, was he equating women demanding equality to women gang-raping men in an interview last year not enough insight into his mindset?”
The problem with outrage culture when it comes to matters of the entertainment industry is aside from checking boxes (being on the ‘right’ side of a debate) & preaching to the converted, what good has it done us?

He concluded, “We were quiet then, weren’t we. Where is the accountability, and why is it easier to bash, ban, boycott ‘peripheral’ members of the fraternity than those ruling the mainstream?”
