Pakistan stopped purchasing US military equipment

Pakistan did not order US military equipment for at least 3 yrs and 4 months.

The order for MAARP’s on 19 September 2014, was the last great arms deal between Pakistan and the US.

The orders below were either canceled or not delivered:

30 October 2014 – a navy cutter was canceled

6 April 2015  – Vipers – AHIZ were halted

12 February 2016 – 8 units of f16 block-52 were canceled

Maybe it is a good decision to avoid buying US manufactured weapons and buy from countries such as Russia, China, Sweden, Holland, Italy, Turkey & Brazil.

During the past 5 years the following arms were ordered or received by Pakistan:

Table of Contents

  • Spain – ATGM
  • Italy – APC’s and Choppers
  • South Africa – MRAP
  • Turkey – Choppers
  • Russia – Choppers

  • China – Type-54 frigates

– Missile boats

  • Turkey – Naval fuel tanker & Corvettes
  • Holland – Corvettes

Air Force:

Italy – Helicopters & SAM’s

Chinese help – UAV’s; drones & Jf 17

Due to the under-mentioned factors purchasing arms from the USA should be avoided in the future too:

  • Spying by the USA
  • Banning
  • Blackmail
  • Stopping services & spares when needed
