Pakistan, Turkey, Malaysia to jointly launch Islamic TV channel: PM Imran Khan

United Nations: As we already know that Prime Minister Imran Khan is currently in the US in order to attend the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

During his visit, he meets with his counterparts from different countries and briefed them about the present condition and ongoing conflict between Pakistan and India.

On Thursday, the Pakistan Premier has said that Pakistan, Turkey, and Malaysia are going to launch a joint Islamic TV Channel. The channel will be addressing different challenges and issues raised under Islamophobia. It would be broadcast in the English language.

Moreover, different films and series will also be made to make people aware of Islamic History.

He took to his twitter handle and announced the news,

“President Erdogan, PM Mahatir and myself had a meeting today in which we decided our 3 countries would jointly start an English language channel dedicated to confronting the challenges posed by Islamophobia and setting the record straight on our great religion – Islam.”3

He further elaborated the plan in another tweet mentioning that “Misperceptions which bring people together against Muslims would be corrected; the issue of blasphemy would be properly contextualized; series & films would be produced on Muslim history to educate/inform our own people & the world; Muslims would be given a dedicated media presence.”
