Islamabad: in the wake of the growing tensions between the US and Iran, the prominent world leaders are trying to resolve the tensions and are supporting peace initiatives.

Pakistan won’t become part of new war now

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday advised Foreign Minister Shah to visit and hold talks with the foreign ministers of US and Iran.

PM said that “Pakistan is ready to play its role for peace but it can never again be part of any war.”

PM’s tweet reads as “I have asked FM Qureshi to visit Iran, KSA and USA to meet with respective foreign ministers, Secretary of States; & COAS Gen Bajwa to contact relevant military leaders to convey a clear message: Pakistan is ready to play its role for peace but it can never again be part of any war.”

Earlier the Chief of Army staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has also advised the two nations to avoid rhetoric. He urged them “to avoid rhetoric in favour of diplomatic engagement.”

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has also given his stance saying that proper engagement of dialogues between the two countries is very necessary. Without discussion, peace cannot be brought in the region.

UN Security Council

He said, “Such matters need to be resolved through dialogue. The UN Security Council and the international community need to play a role in resolving tensions in the region. This region simply cannot afford another war.”
