‘Pakistan’s soil will not be used against any country,’ DG ISPR


Following the killing of the Iranian commander Qassem Soleimani in a US drone strike on Friday, DG ISPR gives his remarks about what Pakistan is up to now.

Pakistan’s soil will not be used against any country

The Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor has stated here on Sunday that “Pakistan’s soil will not be used against any country.”

He further said that the “country will only play the role of a peacemaker in the ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran, which has sent shockwaves across the globe.”

Pakistan has fought really well

While talking to a local TV channel about terrorism. DG ISPR cleared that Pakistan has fought really well with the terrorism. He said that “Pakistan has defeated terrorism on its territory and will not allow its soil to be used against any other country.”

During the interview, he was also asked about India’s claim that Pakistan has changed its policy towards Iran. The Indian media also claimed that the reason behind this is the US plan of starting a military training program for Pakistan Army.

Indian propaganda and fake news

In response to this question, the DG ISPR termed it “Indian propaganda and fake news”.

He stated that “Islamabad and Washington were in talks for the last four or five months over the issue and linking it as Pakistan aligning with the US is Indian propaganda.”

Pakistan army is a professional force

He went on saying, “We are a responsible state and Pakistan army is a professional force. We have exercised restraint despite provocative statements from Indian leadership.”
