Under the wake of recently going on the controversy between playwright Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar and a female activist Marvi Sarmad, Geo Entertainment channel has suspended contracts with the writer Khalil-ur-Rehman.
It is worth noticing that famous TV channel Geo Entertainment and the 7th Sky Entertainment have suspended contracts with him for the use of foul language he has used for the female activist Marvi Sarmad.
While many of his fans have condemned the decision, but, there were a lot of people who were actually happy to know that the channel has suspended contracts with the writer.
Famous film director, Sarmad Khoosat was also quick to laud Geo Entertainment’s decision,
Someone, at least SOMEONE had the courage! Thank you Geo for setting the right precedence. https://t.co/0E33qlcDwi

Shireen Mazari also commends the channel’s decision to evict Khalil-ur-Rehman from its dramas and films.
Good action by Geo. No matter who the woman is, no one has the right to abuse and use filthy language against her especially on TV. It should never be acceptable & never be tolerated. https://t.co/QTrJizyXXG

Geo Entertainment has suspended its play-film deal with KhalilurRehman Qamar until he apologises for abusing Marvi Sirmed. He has contracts with lots of other companies so I’m going to assume he won’t care too much about this. But it’s important that Geo has set this precedent https://t.co/I8OkkVTyMp
