Dubai: The special court has finally served its verdict here on Tuesday regarding the high treason case which was registered against General (retd) Pervez Musharraf.

Pervez Musharraf disappointed

After hearing the high treason case, scanning documents and verifying all the evidence, the special court has handed the former ruler a death penalty under Article 6 of the Constitution of Pakistan.

Pervez Musharraf has expressed “disappointment” over the served verdict of the death penalty to him on Tuesday.

Musharraf, who is currently in Dubai, has heard the verdict which goes against him on Television. According to the recent reports, he was seen disappointed with the served verdict.

His lawyer Akhtar Shah told reporters that “Musharraf wanted to record his statement and was ready to visit Pakistan but he wanted foolproof security which was not provided.”

“He is still in Dubai and sick,” he added.

Moreover, APML’s Malik Mubashir stated that “He agreed to record his statement in Dubai. The party would consult the lawyers about challenging it in the Supreme Court.”

It is worth noticing that Pervez Musharraf has issued a video statement from his hospital bed in Dubai on December 3. In this video, he could be heard saying that he has served his country will all his heart and love.

“I keep coming and going to the hospital,” he added.

He went on explaining his loyalty to his country in these words, “As for me, the commission can come here, and I can give them a statement. They can come and hear me, see my condition and then decide for themselves. When they return they can give their statement and my lawyer will be heard in the court too and then I hope I will get justice.”
