Islamabad: oil prices in the international market are increasing day after day. Keeping in mind, the current oil prices, the government of Pakistan has refused to decrease petroleum prices.
Earlier, it was announced that the Pakistan government will reduce petroleum prices by the month of October.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has issued a notification about the decrease in prices.
OGRA suggested that prices of high speed diesel might be reduced by Rs3.23 per litre, petrol by Rs2.55 per litre, and light diesel oil (LDO) by Rs2.41 per liter. However, the kerosene price would be increased by 1.19 per litre for the month of October.
Petroleum prices unchanged
However, the Finance Ministry informed the masses that the government has decided to keep the petroleum prices unchanged for the month of October 2019. It has issued a notification which explains that petroleum prices are not going to decrease this month (October).
The notification reads, “The decision to retain the September prices of petroleum products for October has been taken in view of the petroleum prices in the international market showing an increasing trend from mid-September 2019 and the expectation that the prices might remain on the higher side in the month of November 2019.”
According to the new notification by the government, the petroleum prices will remain same with the price of petrol being Rs113.24 per litre, diesel price Rs127.14 per litre and LDO price Rs91.89/liter.
