Islamabad: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government on Thursday has launched the Pink Bus service in Mardan in order to ensure a hassle-free and safe journey exclusively for women travelers.
The new separate transport facility specifically for women has officially been launched in Mardan. 10 newly buses of pink color that specifies women have been seen hitting the local roads during initial days. These pink buses would facilitate female commuters on many routes. This is indeed a laudable act of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government.
Trans Peshawar board official has said that people living in Pakistan are generally more concerned and overprotective for the safety of their loved ones especially women and children, further adding that the ride will offer a safe and comfortable experience for women.
He stated further that the Pink Bus service in KP is set to remove barriers for women by empowering them with reasonable monetary benefits.
Earlier The President of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi has also explained the role of women in the country. ‘Naya Pakistan’ is incomplete without the contribution of its brave daughters.
The pink bus service will be available from morning till 10 pm.
The official added that each bus is said to have a seating capacity of 40 passengers while facilities for standing travelers have also been made. First aid kits for emergencies as well as special bus controls for safety measures have also been made.
