‘Pinky Memsaab’ owns award for ‘Best Picture’ at UK Asian Film Festival


Pakistan’s recently released film ‘Pinky Memsaab’ has proudly bagged the award for ‘best picture’ at the UK Asian Film Festival in the Audience Choice category.

The star-studded cast and crew of the film also including director Shazia Ali Khan attended the 10-day event, where the film marked its world premiere. The entire cast members were also present at the award ceremony, where they secured the accolade for ‘Best-Picture’ – in the Audience Choice category.

The leading star of the film, Hajra Yamin took to her Instagram and shared the good news with her fans as she posted a picture of the award on her story amongst the glimpses of her look from the day as well.

The film highlights the intersecting lives of two women coming from two different social classes. The role of Pinky is being played by Hajra Yamina who is a young woman from a small village in Punjab, who gets the job of a maid in Dubai, while on the other hand, we have Meher, a Dubai-based writer/socialite who is struggling with life and its complexities. The role is played by Kiran Malik.

Directed and written by debutant director Shazia Ali Khan, ‘Pinky Memsaab’ is about self-discovery featuring versatile and notable actors including Hajra Yamin, Kiran Malik, Adnan Jaffar, and Sunny Hinduja.
