PM Imran wants Judiciary to act on judge’s video shared by Maryam Nawaz

Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired a meeting of the government spokespersons in the federal capital on Monday in which he has advised the judiciary to act on the judge’s video.

He seeks a forensic audit of the video as soon as possible. The video was shown by the PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz during a media conference in Lahore on Saturday.

The video features the confession of an accountability court judge Arshad Malik that he has sentenced former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif under coercion.

He further stressed that the PTI government will ensure all the necessary arrangements and facilitation to the judiciary in a forensic audit of the video so that there may not leave any ambiguity.

“The judiciary is free and independent, and therefore it should take notice of the matter,” he stated.

“PML-N has a history of targeting and maligning the judiciary… but, this is Naya Pakistan and this won’t be tolerated any longer.”

While Maryam Nawaz also gave her stance stating that “The only crime Nawaz Sharif has committed is that he did not commit a crime.”

On Sunday, Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan also denied the authenticity of the video. While Judge Arshad Malik himself stated that he has not any video in this context. It is PLM-N’s planning to demean his character, name, and family.
