A QR Code feature will be introduced by WhatsApp, enabling users to add contacts. Although this QR feature was originally introduced during 2018, it was not shown in the app.
In accordance with a Twitter account and website, called WABetaInfo, which closely watch the most recent Whatsapp features, a QR code will be activated in the forthcoming version of WhatsApp.
In the 2.19.189 update of WhatsApp for Android, the application works on a QR-Code shortcut, which can’t be seen yet. According to WABetaInfo this feature will be enabled in the future.
Despite the fact that Instagram, also owned by Facebook already has this QR feature, may benefit WhatsApp by combining Instagram and WhatsApp.
How will it function?
For each WhatsApp account, there will be a unique QR-code available. Users will have to scan other users’ QR Code.
With this QR Code, other accounts can immediately be added to your WhatsApp contact list.
However, users have a choice to disable the QR Code when they don’t want to use the code from their settings of WhatsApp.
This QR code is currently used to enable WhatsApp users to make use of their WhatsApp account on the desktop/laptop.
Just one QR connection will be allowed for a single WhatsApp account. This means that you can just use the WhatsApp web on one machine!
