On Monday a resolution was submitted against Zartaj Gul, Minister of State for Climate Change; also the PTI’s (Tehreek-e-Insaf) leader within the Punjab Assembly.
Uzma Bukhari from PML-N (Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz) lodged the resolution. It demanded that action under Article 62, should be taken against Zartaj Gul; emphasizing that she is not deemed fit for her position and should be disqualified.
As stated by the resolution Zartaj Gul, wrongly used her designation when she got Shabnam Gul, her sister, appointed in the position as NACTA director (National Counter Terrorism Authority).
The resolution claimed that Gul had approached Azam Suleman Khan, interior secretary, by a letter to appoint Shabnam Gul.
Shabnam Gul was appointed as NACTA’s director for 3 years by the federal government, which provoked a lot of criticism on social media. Shabnam is inexperienced in the area of counter-terrorism.
After noticing this action, PM Imran Khan instructed Zartaj Gul to withdraw the letter.
