‘Sab Maya Hai’ or ‘Sab Moh Maya Hai’ is a popular philosophical phrase that has very strong and deeper meanings. I won’t be wrong in saying that this phrase summarizes the entire world.
This idiom actually explains all what this universe is and how it has cast a spell upon its devotees. Saint Kabir was quite right when he said,
“Maya is the most deceiving power and keeps us busy in satanic activities so we should try to practice human virtues.”
We should not run after the materialistic things and should seek pleasure in spirituality.
In English, the word ‘Maya’ means ‘Illusion’ while in Urdu it means ‘Dhoka, Fareeb’. The literal meaning of ‘Sab Maya Hai’ or ‘Sab Moh Maya Hai’ is that “All things in the world are not real, they are a fallacy, a presumed reality of the world held by the people.”
Man must not surrender himself before the materialistic charms of this life ad world. He has to be prepared to win the hereafter world. He must run after the truth and something that is real rather than chasing the false and illusionistic pursuits.
Sab Maya Hai
‘Sab Maya Hai’ or ‘Sab Moh Maya Hai’ conveys the meaning that everything that is present between the earth and sky is transient and we must not bow before it. Everything is temporary whether its persons or non-living things. Nothing is going to be permanent. It is due to the charms of ‘Moh Maya’ that all the worldly pursuits seemed enchanting and fascinating to us. But in reality, everything is just an illusion.
People should not run after money or other materialistic pursuits, rather they should try to discover the meaning, their aims of life, and the purposes for which they have been sent to his earth.
It is also being commonly said, ‘Don’t fall prey to Moh-Maya’ which means that don’t run after the worldly items. Discover the meaning of life and don’t surrender before the satanic powers that are driving you towards greed, sloth, and treachery.
So, we should not run after the materialistic things and should seek pleasure in spirituality.
