Saqib Malik’s upcoming film Baaji was destined to release on Eid ul Fitr. However, there were some changes made in the releasing of this film. The film is now all set to hit the theatres on June 28. The sudden change in releasing of the film garnered a massive response by the audience.
The film features Meera Jee, Osman Khalid Butt, Ali Kazmi, Amna Ilyas, and Mohsin Abbas Haider, in pivotal roles.
While attending an event in Karachi, Saqib Malik was being asked about the said issue. Why he didn’t release the film on Eid?
In response to this question, he declared that,
“When Maula Jatt got delayed, we considered it briefly but then we thought that already two films (Wrong No 2, Chhalawa) are releasing on Eid and everybody should have a level playing field.”
“We are an industry that’s trying to stand up on its own feet and so, we really wanted to not affect anyone else’s work and give them a fair chance,” he added.
He is aware of the fact that the film being released on Eid would definitely benefit him however he is not going for it. He has some other plans for it.
He explained his love for Pakistani cinema in these words,
“Their success is our success; every Pakistani film that succeeds is a success for me as a lover of Pakistani cinema and for somebody who is making films.”
