Schools in KP to remain closed till 5th April as coronavirus cases surged in Pakistan


Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa government has extended the closure of schools till April 5, 2020 here on Tuesday. The announcement surfaced after new coronavirus cases emerged in the country.

The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases has surged to 990 across Pakistan.

The Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood has tweeted,

“In a meeting of the National Security Committee presided over PM Imran Khan, it has been decided to close all educational institutions in the country till April 5. This includes all schools and universities, public and private, vocational institutions and madaris.”

Earlier, the provincial government had decided that all the educational institutions will remain closed till March 31, 2020.
