Scientists discover material as tough as diamond.

Scientists have found a super strong material called carbon nitrides that’s as tough as diamonds. They made it by heating up carbon and nitrogen really intensely. Led by the University of Edinburgh, an international team pulled off this breakthrough.

Carbon nitrides are now the second toughest material after diamonds, even beating cubic boron nitride. This material can resist extreme heat and has tons of potential uses, like in coatings, tools, solar panels, and detectors.
