Islamabad: On Monday, the senior lawyers of the Supreme Court of Pakistan have condemned the Lahore PIC attack.
A large number of lawyers have attacked the Pakistan Institute of Cardiology on December 11 beating up the medical staff. They have beaten up the doctors, destroyed public property, misbehaved with the police officials and also beaten up the Punjab Information Minister Fayyaz Chohan.
As a result of this, a woman was reported to be dead as she didn’t receive proper medical aid and many patients were suffering because of the unavailability of the medical staff.
According to the recent sources, a bunch of senior lawyers has expressed their disappointment at the lawyers who have attacked the PIC without any logical reason. They have written a letter to the Pakistan Bar Council in which they showed up their anguish at the “inconceivable and unconscionable move to attack a hospital irrespective of reasons, provocations or motivations”.
The letter reads as, “We also note with regret that the Pakistan Bar Council and different bar associations have not condemned this incident in clear and unequivocal terms.”
Moreover, the lawyers further regretted how the entire incident has “brought disrepute to the legal profession as a whole and humiliated the legal fraternity”.
