Sindh Govt Ban Unauthorized Cattle Markets
The Government of Sindh’s home department has issued a ban on setting up cattle markets in Karachi, except at specific locations. This ban was issued under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC).

The Need for Regulation:
Despite repeated warnings against the establishment of cattle markets within the city, certain groups have continued to defy regulations.
In response to these violations, the home department, acting upon the request of the Karachi commissioner, has prohibited the setting up of cattle markets in Karachi.
Designated Locations:
The Commissioner Karachi Division, in communication with the home department, highlighted the establishment of a cattle mandi at Taiser Town, Northern Bypass, Karachi by the Malir Cantonment Board. This strategically central location offers convenience to citizens who wish to purchase cattle for various purposes.
Moreover, In light of this, the Commissioner Karachi Division proposed a ban on unauthorized cattle markets throughout Karachi Division, with the exception of specific locations.
Therefore, These designated locations include Taiser Town, Northern Bypass, Malir 15, Asoo Goth, cattle mandi Landhi, Rice Godown Landhi, Hamdard University near Manghopir, Mowach Goth, Baldia Town, and cattle mandis permitted by the Station Commander and President Karachi Cantonment Board within their respective limits.
Enforcing the Ban cattle market:
Under Section 144 of the CrPC, an annual order is issued to prevent issues such as traffic congestion, unhygienic conditions, and security risks. The ban on unauthorized aimal markets within Karachi Division is of utmost importance and will remain in effect until the 12th of Zil Hajj, 1444 AH.
Ensuring Compliance:
The authority to register complaints against individuals or groups found in violation of this notification has granted to Station House Officers (SHOs) under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
In conclusion, the Government of Sindh has taken a proactive step by imposing a ban on unauthorized animal markets in Karachi.
