Dubai: Former President and army chief General (rtd) Pervez Musharraf has expressed ‘disappointment’ over the special court verdict on Tuesday.
He has commented on the verdict saying that the decision was entirely based on the “personal vendetta” against him.
Musharraf is currently in Dubai, undergoing medical treatment. He has heard the verdict through Television. He stated that he has requested to be heard at least once but his request was being ignored.
He said that “I call this verdict suspicious because the supremacy of the law was ignored from the start to the end during hearings of this case.”
However, he showed support for Pakistan’s law and also agreed with the Chief Justice Khosa who said that everybody is equal before the law.
He mentioned that “However, in my opinion, Chief Justice Khosa showed his intentions and his determination to the public himself by saying that he ensured a speedy verdict in this case. How can the judges who gained personal benefits during my tenure issue a judgment against me?”
He also thanked the Pakistani Army and people for remembering his loyalty and services for the land.
“I am thankful to Pakistanis and to the Pakistani Armed Forces for remembering my services for this country. This is the biggest honour for me which I will take to my grave.”
