Islamabad: According to the recent media sources, the Pakistan government has decided to appoint Barrister Khalid Javed as the new Attorney General for Pakistan here on Thursday
The announcement was made hours after Anwar Mansoor Khan quit the post of the Attorney General for Pakistan.
It is worth mentioning that Anwar Mansoor has resigned after the Supreme Court of Pakistan and the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) have demanded his resignation as he has made some comments about the Supreme Court Judges.
The news about the selection of Barrister Khalid Javed was confirmed by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan.
Taking to her official Twitter handle, she informed that Barrister Khalid Javed has been appointed by the Pakistan government as the new Attorney General for Pakistan on Thursday.

According to the court order, “A certain statement was made by the attorney general about the bench and it would be appreciative that the material on the basis that he has made statement be placed before the bench.”
“In case, no material was placed before this bench, we expect a written apology from the attorney general for having touched the matter. If [the statement] is not against one, but every member of the bench,” it further added.
