Washington: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Tuesday revealed that Pakistan premier Imran Khan has given a warm invitation to the US President Donald Trump which he readily accepted afterwards.
According to the FM Qureshi, it’s been five years when there is no interaction between the leaders of the two famed countries because there was no formal foreign minister appointed by the PML-N government.
Addressing a press conference in Washington, he stated that “Before PTI assumed power, the incumbent US administration had announced a strategy that held Pakistan responsible for the challenges it faced in Afghanistan.”
“There is peace in our side of the Pak-Afghan border, now. Fresh elections were held in a peaceful manner in tribal districts recently merged with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Not a single rigging charge was leveled,” he added.
He has also termed the meeting between the two leaders as an ‘Impressive, encouraging’. The meeting would bring great hopes and prosperous means between both countries.
