Fakhar 2nd, Babar 1st in ICC ODI rankings.

Fakhar Zaman has surged up the ICC Men’s ODI Batting Rankings, emerging as the top contender to Babar Azam. His remarkable performances have earned him significant gains and closed the gap between them.

Fakhar Zaman has started the ODI series against New Zealand in spectacular fashion. The 33-year-old has already scored two consecutive centuries, leading Pakistan to a commanding position in the five-match series.

In the ODI series opener in Rawalpindi, Fakhar Zaman scored 117 runs, followed by a stunning unbeaten 180 in the second match at the same venue. As a result of his exceptional performance, Fakhar has climbed eight spots in the rankings and is now second, just behind Babar Azam.
With three consecutive ODI centuries, Fakhar Zaman has achieved a career-best rating of 784 points. Despite trailing his captain by 103 points, Fakhar has emerged as the closest challenger to Babar Azam in the rankings.

Pakistan boasts three players in the top five of the latest ODI batting rankings, setting a strong foundation ahead of the upcoming ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup. Alongside Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq holds the fifth spot. They are accompanied by South Africa’s Rassie van der Dussen and India’s Shubman Gill.
