Governor of Sindh Unveils Free IT Courses for 500,000 Youth
KARACHI: Governor Kamran Khan Tessori on Wednesday announced a revolutionary plan to provide free advanced IT courses to 500,000 people in 2025. Addressing the New Year celebrations at the Governor’s House, Tessori reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing opportunities for the youth through the Governor’s Program.
Reflecting on the program’s success in 2024, the governor pointed out that already 50,000 people had been trained in multiple IT disciplines. He underlined the need to scale up the initiative to prepare the youth for a future run by technology. “This initiative equips our youths with core skills to survive in a fast-evolving global economy,” Tessori said.
Besides the IT program, Governor Tessori further elaborated the administration’s record of achievement since the last one year, mentioning that over 900,000 ration bags had been distributed to vulnerable families across the province. He vowed to overcome the grave challenges of unemployment, clean water shortage, affordable electricity, and sanitation in 2025. All this is to give meaningful improvements in the lives of Sindh citizens.
Record-Breaking New Year Celebration
The New Year celebration at the Governor’s House, which set a new world record for 40 minutes of dazzling fireworks, gathered citizens and officials in one venue, signifying the start of the year and renewal of hope in it. Governor Tessori’s plans for 2025 have been highly applauded as they are seen as essential in bringing innovative, economic growth, and social welfare across the province.
