“Babar Azam Unveils Pakistan’s World Cup Loss Reason Against Afghanistan”

After Pakistan’s third successive defeat in the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023, Babar Azam, the team’s captain, conveyed his dissatisfaction with the team’s display. He specifically highlighted the underwhelming performance of the bowlers as a noteworthy element that led to their defeat.

The Men in Green faced an eight-wicket defeat at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, putting their chances of advancing to the knockout stage in a precarious position.

During a post-match interview, Babar Azam stressed the bowlers’ difficulties in taking wickets, especially in the middle overs, which ultimately proved costly for Pakistan. He stated, “When you are lacking in even one aspect, it can result in losing the entire game.”

Babar attributed the victory to Afghanistan and recognized that Pakistan must elevate their performance in the upcoming match by learning from their mistakes. He highlighted the team’s struggles with maintaining the right lengths in their deliveries, particularly in the middle overs, leading to a steady stream of boundaries conceded.
